Johann Zarco satisfied with his performance on Andalucia GP, wants to improve his pace for the round 3 of the 2020 World Championhip in Brno.
It took Johann Zarco just two races to surpass his best result during the entire previous season he spent at KTM. Last year he won only 30 points, and after only two rounds this year, he won 12 points [Jerez GP 11th, Andalucia GP 9th place].
His best result on KTM bike was 10th position at the Grand Prix of Catalunya, while already in the Andalucia GP he took the 9th place, earning 7 points for the Avintia Ducati team. Frenchman also tied Avintia’s best result, 9th place by Tito Rabat, his rival from the Moto2 category and current teammate, which he took in Grand Prix of Catalunya in 2019.
Johann believes he still can improve his race pace by a few tenths and he is looking forward to the Brno GP, where Ducati can show it’s potential better than on Jerez racetrack:
“A ninth position is always a good result to take. Compared last week, I got improvement and still, the race has been anyway difficult. I had a good feeling at the beginning, but few tenths were missing during three or four laps, defining the possibility to go on a low 39 or a high 38.
“This has been even a better race, I have to manage some mistakes that I did during the race that sometimes make you crash. I have finished in the ninth position, the results are coming and giving all time the best is the only way to understand things. – said Zarco to Crash.net
“It’s pretty good, now we are going to the Czech Republic, I hope that I will take all this information and doing it even better in Brno. I think the Ducati will have some more advantages on a bigger track so I look forward to see our lever on the Czech Republic.”
