Race results from the Andalucia GP at Jerez, round 2 of the MotoGP World Championship.
During the first lap, Brad Binder [rookie] has made a mistake and hit into Oliveira’s bike, finishing both rider’s races in Andalucia. Maverick Vinales then tried to overtake a race leader Quartararo and made a mistake, which opened a doors for Valentino to pass him for second place at the beginning of the Andalucia GP.
Later, Franesco Bagnaia started to push a lot and got in front of both Yamaha Factory riders on a second place, but his engine stopped working so the Pramac Ducati rider had to finish the race early.
Morbidelli was closing a gap to Vinales and Rossi [who were on 2nd and 3rd at that moment], trying to grab a podium, but also had a bike malfunction [transmission problem].
During the last third of the Grand Prix, Valentino was really successful in holding Vinales behind himself due to hard braking, but he made a mistake on the penultimate lap and lost that second position to Maverick Vinales.
This week’s race had only 13 finishers. Crutchlow (wrist fracture) and Rins (dislocated shoulder) made their injury comebacks on Friday and were starting their first race of the season today. There will now be one weekend off before the Czech Republic round at Brno, where Marquez will try to return.
